Each week, this newsletter features my two favorite characters:

Gary the Accountant → Buried in process and completely allergic to change.

Gidget the CEO → Fast-moving, big-visioned, and juggling twelve things at once. She hates receipts.
Together, they’re building a company called Gidget’s Widgets.
I’m still not sure what they make, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is how they work together.
They’ll butt heads, crack jokes, and somehow figure out how to build a better business (while surviving each other).

Hi, I’m Eddy.
You’re probably here because you’re an entrepreneur or an accountant—and the other group drives you nuts. 😂
That’s why I created this newsletter. Each week, I write about what I see in the real world and wrap it up in a fun little comic.
I founded Ignite Spot Accounting in 2008, but I’ve also built businesses, led marketing teams, hosted podcasts, and stared at QuickBooks screens until my soul left my body. Basically, I live on the tightrope between ideas and numbers, and I’ve made it my mission to help these two worlds speak the same language.
This newsletter exists because something funny (and often painful) happens when accountants and entrepreneurs try to work together. My goal is to give that awkwardness some airtime—so we can laugh, learn, and build better businesses.
What I bring to the table:
- Financial reporting & forecasting
- QuickBooks optimization
- Project costing and utilization analysis
- Fractional CFO
- Budgeting for entrepreneurial goals
- Translating accounting jargon into common, everyday language
Education:
- B.A. in Accounting – University of Utah
- MBA – Weber State University
- (Soon-ish) B.A. in Philosophy – Weber State, est. 2027
